Zimi secures distribution across ten thousand retail outlets
- Zimi signed an exclusive distribution deal with Directed Electronics Australia.
- The partnership opens access to more than 10,000 retail outlets in Australia and New Zealand.
- The agreement aims to drive adoption of Zimi's next-generation smart home devices launching in 2027.
Smart device developer Zimi (ASX:ZMM) signed an exclusive three-year agreement with Directed Electronics Australia to distribute its new Matter-enabled product range across more than 10,000 retail outlets in Australia and New Zealand.
The agreement covers retail, direct-to-consumer, and direct-to-business sales, establishing a new commercial pathway alongside Zimi's existing wholesale relationship with GSM Electrical (Australia).
Because no executive quotes were included in the market filing, the company moved forward directly with details of the three-year contract.
The transaction includes an option to extend the agreement for an additional two years, with products scheduled to enter a global smart home market forecasted to reach between US$450 billion and US$887 billion over the next decade.
The company stated that the two combined distribution channels will give the business complete market coverage across both retail and trade sectors ahead of its 2027 product rollout.
Following the announcement, the Zimi share price was unchanged at $0.003.
Zimi develops and manufactures internet-of-things devices, focusing on energy management and automation solutions for residential and commercial spaces.
