  • The company aims to evaluate potential resource growth beyond its existing 282.0Mt coal estimate.

Yari Resources (ASX:YAR) has expanded its geological database by compiling historical records for 199 boreholes and wells at its Arcadia Coal Project in Queensland's Bowen Basin.

The new database incorporates 43 historical coal exploration holes alongside 156 coal seam gas, petroleum, and stratigraphic wells to test seam development east of the current footprint.

"Our next step is to assess whether this information supports a larger resource and target any additional drilling where it can add the most value," said Yari Resources Managing Director Courtney Taylor.

The company stated that data validation, coal-quality assessments, and geological modelling must be completed before any revised resource estimate can be determined.

Following the announcement, the Yari Resources share price was unchanged at $0.002.

The Arcadia project currently holds an estimated coal resource of 282.0Mt, consisting of 164.0Mt in the indicated category and 118.0Mt in the inferred category.

Yari Resources completed the acquisition of the Arcadia Coal Project in October to focus on exploring coal deposits across its Queensland exploration permits.
