X2M Connect, Mawson launch AI smart community partnership

Tech firm X2M Connect (ASX:X2M) has entered into a memorandum of understanding with Mawson Business Advisory to launch an integrated smart community offering across Australia.

The partnership seeks to revolutionise estate management by deploying a fully integrated, AI-powered solution supported by private 5G connectivity—a move that could potentially replace traditional NBN connections within residential developments.

By consolidating up to 20 separate vendor relationships into a single managed platform, the ISCO aims to provide estate operators with a streamlined, end-to-end operational suite.

The initiative targets a substantial domestic market, including Australia’s retirement village sector, which currently encompasses over 2,500 villages and 200,000 residents.

Under the proposed 10-year agreements, X2M will act as the prime contractor, utilising its data processing platform to monitor real-time usage across water, gas, electricity, and public safety networks.

The high-resolution data will fuel AI applications designed to optimise energy efficiency and estate security.

Beyond residential applications, the venture identifies significant growth opportunities in servicing data centres, which possess intensive energy and water requirements.

The company already boasts a robust international presence, managing over 500,000 devices for 89 blue-chip and government clients across the Middle East and Asia-Pacific.

The latest domestic expansion taps into a total addressable market for X2M’s existing utility customers exceeding $600 million in upfront revenue.
