Key points

  • Woolworths Group reported a 4.7% increase in total first-quarter Group sales to $19.35 billion, driven primarily by strong performance in Australian Food.
  • Group e-Commerce sales surged 16% to $3.1 billion during the quarter, while Group VOC NPS dropped 1 point compared to September 2025.
  • Management remains focused on building sales momentum and improving customer value ahead of the core Christmas and holiday trading period.

Woolworths Group (ASX:WOW) reported total first-quarter sales of $19.35 billion, representing a 4.7% increase compared to the prior corresponding period.

The revenue expansion was anchored by Australian Food sales, which grew 6.9% to $14.84 billion, offsetting softer demand in New Zealand Food and BIG W.

"Lower shelf price continued to grow during the quarter with over 1,000 products now part of the range, including more branded favourites, and we have seen record boosting of Everyday Rewards offers by members as customers continue to look for value," said Woolworths Group CEO Amanda Bardwell.

In New Zealand Food, sales in local currency increased 2.9% to NZ$2.25 billion, while BIG W sales within the W Living division declined 0.9% amid a challenging retail environment.

Looking ahead, management stated that October sales growth in Australian Food remains broadly in line with first-quarter trends following the conclusion of its Disney Ooshies campaign.

Following the announcement, the Woolsworth share price came to $41.01.

The retailer expanded its lower shelf price range to cover over 1,000 products as average grocery prices declined year-on-year.

Woolworths continues to scale its digital logistics operations, with eComX sales rising 20.2% thanks to strong consumer adoption of its on-demand delivery services.
