Wilson Asset Management appoints new CEO
- Wilson Asset Management appointed Catriona Burns as CEO.
- The company's flagship investment vehicle shares traded flat following the leadership change.
- The transition forms part of the firm's structured long-term succession planning strategy.
Wilson Asset Management (ASX:WAM) appointed Catriona Burns as CEO to replace Kate Thorley after 15 years in the position.
The leadership change comes as the investment manager implements its internal succession plan rather than selecting an external candidate.
“Catriona’s appointment reflects the strength of our leadership team, our long-term succession planning and positions Wilson Asset Management strongly for its next phase of growth," said Wilson Asset Management Chairman Geoff Wilson.
Burns will continue as the lead portfolio manager of the global fund, while Thorley will transition into a full-time executive director role.
Following the announcement, the Wilson Asset Management share price was unchanged at $1.57.
The fund manager operates several listed investment companies on the Australian Securities Exchange, focusing on undervalued growth opportunities.
These investment vehicles collectively manage diversified portfolios across domestic small-to-medium businesses and global equities markets.
