Westpac (ASX:WBC) has confirmed that Chief Information Officer Scott Collary will retire after six years of leading the banking giant’s technological transformation.

Collary is set to remain in his post through a transition period as the lender initiates a global search for his successor.

Under Collary's leadership, Westpac underwent a significant overhaul of its digital infrastructure, a legacy highlighted today by CEO Anthony Miller.

"The bank is more stable, more resilient, and better protected because of the work he has led," Miller stated, specifically noting Collary's "critical role" in fortifying the bank’s cyber security and scam prevention frameworks against escalating global threats.
