Weebit Nano secures license deal with Texas Instruments

Australian semiconductor innovator Weebit Nano (ASX:WBT) has secured a license agreement with global chipmaker Texas Instruments to integrate its resistive random-access memory technology into TI's advanced embedded processing semiconductors.

Under the agreement, Weebit will provide IP licensing, technology transfer, and design support to qualify its low-power, high-temperature ReRAM in TI's process technologies.

The memory technology, noted for its cost-effectiveness and robust retention at high temperatures, has already been qualified for AEC-Q100 150°C operation.

Amichai Ron, Senior Vice President of TI Embedded Processing, said the collaboration will give customers access to "industry-leading NVM technology in performance, scale, and reliability," strengthening TI’s position in the embedded processor market.

Coby Hanoch, CEO of Weebit Nano, described the deal as a strategic milestone, highlighting the growing industry shift toward ReRAM as a successor to flash memory in system-on-chip designs.

Production orders and royalty payments will commence in the medium term at TI's discretion, with the long-term economic impact yet to be disclosed.
