Webjet Group strengthens board with appointment of corporate veteran Gary Weiss

Webjet Group Limited (ASX: WJL) has announced the appointment of Dr Gary Weiss AM as a Non-Executive Director, effective May 1, 2026.

Dr Weiss has more than 35 years’ experience in business restructuring and growth across the retail, property and investment sectors and currently serves as Chairman of Coast Entertainment Holdings and Cromwell Property Group, Deputy Chairman of Myer Holdings, and Executive Director of Ariadne Australia.

Ariadne Australia holds a 5.01 per cent interest in Webjet, and, together with BGH Capital under a cooperation agreement, the group controls 18.28 per cent of the company’s issued share capital.

 “We are pleased to welcome Gary to the Board. His significant board and investment experience, combined with strong commercial judgement and governance expertise, will be valuable as Webjet Group progresses its strategic agenda,” said Webjet Chair Don Clarke.

His appointment is subject to shareholder approval at the Annual General Meeting in August 2026, yet the board said it is continuing its succession planning to maintain a mix of skills and independence as the company responds to developments in the travel and technology markets.
