Vintage Energy (ASX:VEN) announced a $2.1 million capital raising aimed at fast-tracking production and infrastructure upgrades at the Odin gas field.

The centrepiece of the initiative is the installation of a permanent gas connection in the South Australian portion of the onshore Cooper Basin.

The new infrastructure will replace existing temporary facilities, a move projected to deliver approximately $700,000 in annual operating expenditure savings for the joint venture, which includes partners Metgasco and Bridgeport.

The funding, structured as a 1-for-4 non-renounceable entitlement offer, allows eligible shareholders to subscribe for new shares at $0.04 each—representing a 20% discount to the last traded price.

To further incentivise investors, each new share includes two free-attaching options with a $0.05 exercise price.

High-level internal confidence was signalled by the company’s chair and managing director, who have personally committed a combined $200,000 to the offer.

Beyond infrastructure, the capital will bolster preparations for drilling two gas production wells, Odin-3 and Vali-4, supported by a $5 million South Australian government grant.

Managing Director Neil Gibbins emphasised that the funds will allow the company to exploit its 135 petajoules of undeveloped reserves and investigate high-priority oil prospects.

The expansion is timed to meet supply contracts with the Pelican Point Power station, a 497-megawatt facility critical to South Australia's energy security.

At the time of reporting, Vintage Energy's share price was $0.0040.
