Vestas has purchased the 272-megawatt St Patricks Plains Wind Project in Tasmania from Ark Energy.

The transaction takes the proposed Central Highlands clean energy development close to its final construction phase.

"Our experience at Lotus Creek provides a proven model for delivery," said Vestas Vice President Evan Carless.

The project has already secured all primary development approvals required under state and federal environmental laws.

Neither company disclosed the final acquisition price, total construction costs, or specific delivery timeframes for the Tasmanian facility.

The two energy firms previously partnered to advance the Lotus Creek Wind Farm in central Queensland during 2024.
