Infrastructure services firm Ventia Services Group (ASX:VNT) has partnered with OpenAI to deploy artificial intelligence tools across its regional operations.

The collaboration aims to pioneer new AI use cases across safety, asset management, customer service, field operations, and internal corporate functions.

Under the new agreement, staff at the more than $5 billion company will gain direct access to ChatGPT Enterprise and OpenAI’s API platform.

The integration is expected to drastically collapse the time taken to move complex engineering and logistical concepts into active production.

An OpenAI spokesperson declined to disclose the financial terms of the deal.

The deployment will also extend heavily into the field, aiming to alleviate administrative burdens for Ventia’s frontline workforce of more than 15,000.

Beyond basic operations, Ventia is collaborating with OpenAI-owned boutique consultancy Tomoro.ai to architect a bespoke bid management capability.

The tool is designed to elevate bid quality, accelerate turnaround times, and boost overall project win rates, building on early trials where OpenAI’s Codex was utilised to build a streamlined supply partner portal.

“By working with OpenAI, we’re giving our teams practical access to advanced tools that can help them work more safely and efficiently,” said Derek Osborn, Ventia’s Group Executive for Innovation and Transformation.

Satya Tammareddy, OpenAI’s go-to-market lead for Australia and New Zealand, welcomed the rollout, noting the tech provider was pleased to bring advanced AI capabilities to one of the region’s largest essential services organisations.
