
VBX secures bauxite agreement targeting 3 Mtpa export
- VBX (ASX:VBX) signed a framework agreement with a Hong Kong subsidiary of a major Chinese aluminium group.
- The potential deal targets 2 to 3 Mtpa of bauxite product sales.
- The agreement aims to fund and supply the Wuudagu Project post-feasibility study.
VBX (ASX:VBX) has executed a non-exclusive framework agreement with a major Chinese aluminium industry subsidiary to negotiate funding and offtake terms for its Wuudagu bauxite project in Western Australia.
The arrangement seeks to establish an investment and purchasing pathway following the completion of the project’s definitive feasibility study.
"This framework agreement with a major Chinese aluminium industry group provides a pathway to finalising a material funding solution for Wuudagu once the DFS is completed," said VBX Founder and Managing Director Ryan de Franck.
Under the framework terms, both parties intend to negotiate non-exclusive agreements to purchase between 2 and 3 Mtpa of bauxite product and collaborate on further Northern Australia exploration.
Full-form agreements are targeted to be executed within 90 days following the completion of the DFS.
Following the announcement, the VBX share price was unchanged at $0.48.
VBX is a mineral exploration and development company focused on advancing its flagship Wuudagu bauxite project in northern Western Australia.
The company continues to seek funding and commercial offtake solutions to support project construction, commissioning, and long-term production.
