  • Variscan Mines announced that its upcoming five-hole diamond drilling campaign at the Guajaraz Project in Spain will begin shortly.
  • The company's stock remained steady as the announcement confirmed preparation is underway following recent crop harvests.
  • The exploration expansion aims to fulfil operational requirements to secure a three-year tenement extension in September.

Variscan Mines (ASX:VAR) will soon begin a five-hole diamond drilling programme covering 1,430m at its Spanish project.

The campaign follows the completion of extensive geological mapping, geochemical sampling, and a deep ground-penetrating radar survey.

The company engaged contractor Geoplanning to execute the campaign designed to target zinc-rich polymetallic mineralisation.

The imminent drilling campaign satisfies the operational requirements necessary to file for a three-year tenement extension in September.

Following the announcement, the Variscan Mines share price was unchanged at $0.005.

The exploration expansion runs parallel to ongoing underground and surface campaigns at the flagship Novales-Udias Zinc Project in Cantabria.

The active exploration fronts are backed by a capital raising completed by Variscan on May 11.
