Vantage Metals (ASX:VAN) has commenced a 5,000m to 10,000m diamond drilling campaign at its Kalahari Copper Project in Botswana.

The 3,900km2 property sits directly along strike from MMG’s Khoemacau copper hub, which produces 50,000 tonnes annually.

“It’s exciting to finally be commencing our initial drilling programme at the highly prospective northern area of our project,” said Vantage Metals CEO Will Dix.

The company stated that exploration will target three priority areas and run through at least October 2026.

Following the announcement, the Vantage Metals share price was up at $0.037.

The exploration work combines non-recovery tricone drilling through desert sand overburden with diamond tails into bedrock.

The project is focused on locating the Ngwako Pan–D'Kar contact to guide future copper mineralisation targeting.
