US, China Hold AI, Trade Talks Ahead of Trump-Xi Summit

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, speaking after hours of talks with China's Vice Premier He Lifeng and other officials, said the two sides agreed to set up a dialogue on AI aimed at reaching a common understanding on goals and threats. Bessent's comments on "very successful" talks on AI, trade and investment with his Chinese counterparts came ahead of this week's summit between presidents Donald Trump and Xi Jinping.
