Unity Metals (ASX:UM1) announced the discovery of high-grade gold at its Ngot Gold Project in Cambodia.

Initial assay results from the first six holes at the Ngot Central prospect have revealed substantial mineralisation, with standout intercepts including 1m at 21.8 g/t gold from a depth of 125.6m and 4.9m at 3.2 g/t gold, which featured a particularly rich zone of 34.5 g/t gold over 0.4m.

The geology at Ngot Central consists of stacked zones of quartz-pyrite-arsenopyrite stockwork veins hosted in diorite.

The structure closely mirrors the mineralisation style at the nearby Okvau Mine, located just 2km to the north.

While Ngot Central shows great promise, the company noted that the strongest mineralisation to date has actually been intersected at the Rohav Mountain prospect.

Drilling there has uncovered broad zones of poly-phase stockwork veins and breccias, spanning 20m to 50m in width.

Currently, the 8,000-metre diamond drilling program is approximately 60% complete, with several prospects—including Ngot NE and Mesam South—still awaiting the drill rig.

Although laboratory backlogs caused by high demand from regional competitors have slowed assay turnaround times, Unity remains on track to complete the program by the end of April.

At the time of reporting, Unity Metals' share price was $0.23.
