Deal value fell 10% year over year in the third quarter after a strong first half, when global M&A was up nearly 50% and included 47 deals worth at least $10 billion. Ted Smith, President and Co-Founder of Union Square Advisors, attributed the pullback partly to typical summer seasonality and expects a busy fourth quarter; he said the $5 trillion record set in 2021 remains within reach. He speaks with Romaine Bostick on "The Close."
