UNGA Convenes While Questions Remain on Iran, Russia

Russia is set to extend a ban on most diesel exports beyond the end of September as Ukraine continues to attack its refineries, according to people familiar with the matter. Russia enacted the ban in July as a wave of Ukrainian strikes against its refineries dragged oil-processing rates to multiyear lows. This comes as President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he'll meet President Donald Trump during the UN General Assembly week in New York as the embattled Ukrainian leader looks to shore up support to defend against stepped up Russian attacks. Zelenskyy said in a post on X that he had an "important conversation" with Trump and said their upcoming meeting could "change a lot."
