Tungsten Mining (ASX:TGN) commenced major reverse circulation and diamond drilling programmes at its 100%-owned Watershed Tungsten Project in Queensland, comprising 250 holes across approximately 20,700m.
The programme follows the preliminary economic evaluation outcomes released in June and represents a next step in the technical appraisal and development of the watershed project.
“The commencement of this major drilling programme is an important next step in the advancement of Watershed following the strong preliminary economic evaluation outcomes announced in June,” said Tungsten Mining Chairman Gary Lyons.
The reverse circulation programme comprises 175 holes for approximately 15,000m designed to reduce drill spacing to a 20-metre-by-20-metre pattern, while the diamond drilling programme comprises 75 holes for approximately 5,700 m to collect representative metallurgical and geotechnical samples.
Initial drilling results are expected from October as the company advances technical definitions to help reduce project development risk.
Following the announcement, the Tungsten Mining share price was down at $0.20.
The company focuses its operations on building a low-cost tungsten concentrate production profile across multiple Australian assets.
