Tungsten Mining (ASX:TGN) commenced its exploration drilling program at the 100% owned Mount Mulgine Project, located approximately 330km north-northeast of Perth.
The extensive field campaign at the Mulgine Trench deposit comprises 130 reverse circulation holes spanning 40,000m alongside 37 PQ diamond holes totalling 4,700m.
The RC drilling program is engineered to test down-dip resource continuity between 80m and 160m beneath the current 2020 mineral resource estimate.
The phase evaluates upper zones of a conceptual exploration target estimated at 165 to 200 million tonnes grading 0.10% to 0.12% tungsten trioxide (WO3) and 180 to 220 ppm molybdenum.
Successful delineation has the clear potential to add 165 to 240 kilotonnes of contained WO3 and 30 to 36 Kt of contained Mo, substantially expanding upon the project's existing 270 Kt WO3 resource baseline.
The diamond drilling component will extract large-diameter core samples to secure critical geotechnical data for pit designs and metallurgical test work.
Initial assay results from this major asset development program are scheduled to be released to the market approximately six weeks after commencement.
If geological continuity is verified along strike and at depth, the expansion could elevate Mount Mulgine into one of the largest single tungsten projects outside of China.
