Trump Rejects Push for International Pact to Manage AI Risks

Representative Lori Trahan, a Democrat from Florida, said that President Trump is 'not in lockstep' with the American people when it comes to AI guardrails and that the president's claim that AI risks are a 'globalist scheme' is out of touch with what the public is feeling. Trahan, who co-authored a bipartisan bill on AI guardrails, said that she feels action shouldn't wait until the next congress and that congress is 'gambling' with the next AI security incident by sending members home ahead of the midterms.
