- The company aims to boost gas production rates by returning idle wells to service and applying field-wide optimization plans.
TMK Energy (ASX:TMK) has commenced its 2026 work program at its Pilot Well Project with field-based operations expected to run over the next two months.
The initial work focuses on returning the idle LF-03 well to production, building on an October gas production average of approximately 950 cubic metres per day.
"Following the clean out of the well, a standard procedure undertaken in many workovers, LF-03 will be the first well to benefit from smaller casing (5 ½ inch slotted liner), smaller tubing and pump, all of which are part of the optimisation plan for this and all new wells (including LF-08)," said TMK Energy CEO Dougal Ferguson.
Operations at LF-03 involve removing the existing pump and tubing, cleaning the well, and installing a smaller 5.5-inch slotted liner casing alongside smaller tubing to optimise flow rates.
The re-completion of LF-03 forms part of a broader optimization strategy that includes the future LF-08 well to help move the project toward commercial production rates.
Following the announcement the TMK Energy share price was unchanged at $0.12.
TMK Energy operates energy projects in Mongolia focused on coal seam gas exploration and development.
