Tivan expands Bacau Project exploration area by 50km2
- Tivan secured approval to expand its Baucau Project exploration licence in Timor-Leste by approximately 50km2.
- The expansion extends the company's coverage over a regional magnetic anomaly measuring roughly 2.5km by 1km.
- The enlarged footprint aims to accelerate copper and gold exploration across high-priority targets in the Baucau region.
Tivan (ASX:TVN) secured government approval in Timor-Leste to expand its existing exploration licence at the Baucau Project by approximately 50km2.
The additional land area expands the company's footprint directly east of its current concession to target potential copper and gold deposits.
Tivan Executive Chairman Grant Wilson commented, “Today’s announcement complements outcomes achieved over the past month: we acquired an option to extend the Baucau Project to the west and we succeeded in the competitive award of a concession to the north of the Turiscai Project.”
The expanded licence area captures a magnetic anomaly measuring 2.5km by 1km, while the company also appointed George Manton as Principal Geologist for Timor-Leste.
Tivan stated that it will focus initial exploration activities on further defining the newly incorporated target area.
Following the announcement the Tivan share price was unchanged at $0.20.
The Baucau Project sits roughly 123km east of Dili and holds multiple exploration targets, including the Scorpion prospect.
Sampling at the nearby site previously returned material grades of up to 6.87% copper and 24.70 grammes per tonne of gold.
