Talisman Mining begins Phase 2 East Peak Hill drilling

Talisman Mining (ASX:TLM) commenced a 4,500-metre follow-up Phase 2 aircore drilling programme at its East Peak Hill gold prospect in New South Wales.

Located approximately 70km south-west of Dubbo, the project lies within the highly prospective Junee-Narromine Volcanic Belt.

The latest exploration campaign follows a successful maiden programme in February, which uncovered anomalous pathfinder minerals sharing a geochemical signature with the neighbouring Tomingley Gold Operations.

East Peak Hill sits directly adjacent to the Tomingley Gold Project—which boasts a substantial resource of 1.36 million ounces at 2.2 grammes per tonne of gold—and is immediately north of the Buryan porphyry copper-gold deposit.

The newly launched Phase 2 programme is specifically designed to extend near-surface mineralised trends within the underlying intrusive rocks discovered during Phase 1.

Prior assays revealed shallow intersections, including 9m at 0.67 parts per million gold and 1,582 parts per million arsenic, which featured a high-grade core of 3m at 1.75 parts per million gold.

Separate intersections returned 29m at 400 parts per million copper and 360 parts per million cobalt.

Talisman’s dual exploration strategy will focus on delineating orogenic-style gold-arsenic-antimony targets along the structurally disrupted edges of the andesitic rock package, alongside porphyry-style copper-gold systems within the intensely altered core intrusion corridor.
