Tabcorp launches One Pool national tote initiative
- Tabcorp confirmed the launch of its One Pool national tote ahead of the spring racing carnival.
- The move merges three state betting pools into a single national wagering engine to boost pool liquidity.
- The company stated that consolidating these pools aims to offer competitive odds and arrest long-term tote declines.
Tabcorp (ASX:TAH) has confirmed that its long-awaited One Pool national tote will go live on Friday ahead of the spring racing carnival.
The national structure addresses a multi-decade decline in traditional tote wagering as customers have increasingly transitioned towards fixed-odds bookmaking.
"Tote betting has been in long-term decline, and the creation of a national tote is about making it appealing again," said Tabcorp CEO Gillon McLachlan.
The new structure unifies NSW TAB, SuperTAB, and UniTAB into a single combined engine to maximise wagering volume across Australia.
The operator aims to stabilise dividend calculations and drive increased betting volume ahead of major spring carnival events.
Following the announcement, the Tabcorp share price was unchanged at $0.88.
The business previously secured key regulatory clearances from state racing bodies following months of operational negotiations.
The company stated that the consolidated platform forms part of a broader strategy to modernise its wagering footprint and optimise its domestic technology asset base.
