
Suncorp Group restructures executive team leadership roles

Suncorp Group (ASX:SUN) announced changes to its executive leadership team involving portfolio swaps and a new digital role effective on Aug. 17.
The leadership changes follow the insurer's reported full-year net profit of $1.03 billion for the financial year ended June 30, down from $1.82 billion in the previous period.
"As Suncorp moves through its platform modernisation and operational transformation agendas, the focus will move to leveraging these investments to create more contemporary products, deliver more personalised customer experiences, increase seamless digital self-service and use AI at scale to transform customer and claims processes," said Suncorp Group CEO Steve Johnston.
Under the restructure, current Chief Risk Officer Bridget Messer will move to the newly created role of Chief Executive Customer, Brand and Digital, while Lisa Harrison and Michael Miller will swap leadership of the consumer and commercial insurance portfolios.
The changes require relevant regulatory approvals before taking effect on Aug. 17.
Following the announcement, the Suncorp Group share price was down at $19.23.
