Strategic Energy Resources (ASX:SER) has received firm commitments to raise A$1.5 million before costs through a A$1.25 million share placement and an expected fully underwritten A$0.25 million share purchase plan at A$0.12 per share to fund drilling and exploration at its Diamantina Copper‑Gold Project in Queensland.
The issue price represents a 17.2% discount to SER’s last traded price of A$0.145 on 24 June 2026 and an 18.9% discount to the 10‑day volume‑weighted average, with the board noting strong interest from new and existing sophisticated and institutional investors compared with past capital raisings.
“We would like to thank new and existing shareholders for their ongoing support,” said Strategic Energy Resources Managing Director Dr David DeTata.
SER will issue approximately 10.4 million new shares under the placement, using capacity under ASX Listing Rules 7.1 and 7.1A, and about 2.1 million new shares under the SPP; directors have committed A$100,000 to the placement subject to shareholder approval, and Leeuwin Wealth is expected to fully underwrite the SPP up to A$250,000 for eligible shareholders who can apply for up to A$30,000 each.
The company says proceeds will fund high‑impact diamond drilling at Diamantina, payment of deferred consideration owed to Anglo American Exploration (Australia) for the Diamantina acquisition, and project evaluation, working capital and offer costs, with SPP applications due by 7:00pm AEST on 21 July 2026.
At the time of reporting, Strategic Energy Resources (ASX:SER) share price was AUD 0.013.
SER is also preparing to start drilling at its Canobie Copper Project in July under a joint venture with Fortescue Metals Group before moving the rig to Diamantina, and continues exploration at Bulimba under a joint venture with Sumitomo Metal Mining, as part of its broader under‑cover copper‑gold strategy in Queensland.
