
State Street promotes Australia head Tim Helyar to regional chief
- State Street Corporation (NYSE:STT) has promoted its Australia country head, Tim Helyar, to lead its Asia Pacific operations.
- The executive change places Helyar in Hong Kong to steer growth across regional financial hubs.
- The firm is now searching for a replacement country head for its Australian business.
State Street Corporation (NYSE:STT) has named its Australia country head, Tim Helyar, as the new head of Asia Pacific.
Helyar replaces former regional chief Lochiel Crafter, who recently retired after leading the financial service firm's regional strategy.
“His regional knowledge and collaborative leadership will help advance our growth strategy across Asia Pacific, while supporting regional clients as they seek to unlock growth, gain efficiencies and seize new opportunities,” said State Street Corporation Head of International Stefan Gmuer.
Helyar spent almost 18 years at JP Morgan, concluding his tenure as head of fund services product ANZ before joining State Street in 2021.
Following the announcement, the State Street Corporation share price was unchanged at $191.88.
The global custody bank has maintained an operational footprint in the Asia Pacific market since opening its first offices in 1982.
State Street now operates across 12 territories in the region, including major financial hubs in Japan, Singapore, China, and Australia.
