Star Minerals (ASX:SMS) has resumed grade control drilling at its Tumblegum South Gold Project.

The program, coordinated by MEGA Resources, will cover approximately 4,000m, with 611m already completed prior to the Christmas break.

Managing Director Ashley Jones said, "The MEGA Resources geological team made solid progress before Christmas and is now continuing the program. We look forward to receiving results throughout January."

The grade control drilling is designed to provide detailed data to define the mining production schedule.

Closely spaced drill holes will guide the mining process, helping to maximise economic returns through the efficient extraction of the deposit.

At the time of reporting, Star Minerals' share price was $0.049.
