Sparc Technologies Limited (ASX: SPN) has reported an eventful March 2026 quarter, headlined by a key commercial milestone with global coatings company AkzoNobel.
The Tier‑1 manufacturer has committed to the commercial release of an ecosparc® enhanced version of its Interzone® 954 protective coating.
This step represents the first integration of Sparc’s graphene additive into a widely used commercial coating, with production set to commence at AkzoNobel’s Australian facility in May 2026.
The company is also modernising the sector through an AI‑driven collaboration with the Australian Institute of Machine Learning (AIML).
The project is developing computer vision software to automate and enhance the accuracy of corrosion assessments, significantly reducing the manual labour required for international testing protocols and improving data quality and consistency.
In the renewable energy space, the Sparc Hydrogen joint venture completed over three months of sustained operations at its green hydrogen pilot plant at the University of Adelaide’s Roseworthy campus.
CEO Alana Barlow also led a delegation to Japan to showcase this solar‑driven approach to green hydrogen to industry and research leaders.
