The agreement marks the first formal partnership between an Australian state government and the technology company.

"It means the state government will work with OpenAI to explore opportunities to develop AI skills," said South Australian Government Premier Peter Malinauskas.

The state government stated that any resulting technology initiatives will maintain strict privacy, security, and procurement safeguards.

The administration stated the partnership will attract global investment.

During the United States trade mission, Malinauskas also met with Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) CEO Tim Cook.

Apple stated that upcoming device parental controls were inspired by the Australian social media age limit.
