- The drilling initiative aims to test copper porphyry targets alongside ongoing exploration at the Mandacaru Lithium Project in Brazil.
Solis Minerals (ASX:SLM) has commenced a 2,500-metre maiden diamond drilling programme across five holes at its Cinto Copper Project in Peru.
The project site is positioned near major copper producing assets, including Southern Copper Corporation's Toquepala and Cuajone operations.
"The project area has excellent copper porphyry potential with abundant outcropping breccia-style copper mineralisation, geophysical targets, proximity to globally significant copper mines and regional infrastructure," said Solis Minerals CEO Mitch Thomas.
The company stated that the drilling will test mineralisation targets identified from surface sampling that returned results up to 8.7% copper.
Further assay updates from parallel exploration at the Mandacaru Lithium Project in Brazil are expected in September 2026.
Following the announcement, the Solis Minerals share price was unchanged at $0.070.
The explorer maintains a portfolio of copper concessions in Peru alongside lithium assets located in Brazil.
Solis Minerals holds a 100% interest in the Cinto project area, which covers ground within the regional Peruvian copper belt.
