SKS Technologies Group (ASX:SKS) has been awarded an additional $38 million contract with Built for the next phase of the MEL2 data centre project in Melbourne's northwest.

The expansion follows an initial $28 million early works award announced on 14 July, bringing the total value of the MEL2 project to $66 million.

“Winning further work from the same developer demonstrates confidence in our workmanship, reliability and ability to deliver critical and complex electrical infrastructure on time and to specification, whilst building our reputation more broadly as a trusted partner on major projects across the industry,” said SKS Technologies CEO Matthew Jinks.

The additional work covers inground services and cold shell fit-outs, including 22kV cabling, switchroom equipment installation, power distribution, and internal technical space build-outs.

SKS Technologies stated that the additional award lifts its current work on hand to $270 million, while the company's share price was unchanged at $11.18.

The Melbourne-based company designs and installs electrical, communications, and audio-visual systems across key sectors including data centres, defence, mining, and healthcare.

SKS Technologies stated that a robust tendered pipeline and a returning client base position the business to expand its overall work on hand as timing for new contract awards falls into place.
