SKS secures $22M Melbourne docklands retail contract
SKS Technologies Group (ASX:SKS) has strengthened its market position by securing a substantial $22 million contract for a state-of-the-art electrical technology solution.
Awarded by Buildcorp Group, the project involves the supply and installation of a comprehensive electrical ecosystem for a major retail group’s new headquarters, located in the prestigious Docklands precinct of Melbourne.
The project scope is extensive, encompassing core electrical infrastructure, advanced lighting, distribution systems, and integrated smart building technologies.
SKS Technologies CEO, Matthew Jinks, noted that the win reflects the company’s reputation for executing complex, large-scale commercial developments with precision.
He emphasised that the project validates the firm’s strategic diversification into non-data centre sectors and builds deeper relationships with high-profile end-user clients.
With this contract, the company’s total order book has surged to $355 million.
Approximately $270 million of this work extends beyond the typical 12-month horizon, reaching into the second half of 2027.
The shift towards longer-tailed contracts indicates a trend towards larger, more technically sophisticated projects.
Furthermore, the company’s tendering pipeline has expanded by nearly 120% since February 2026, now sitting at $1.25 billion.
While data centres remain a primary driver—accounting for over $1 billion of that pipeline—this latest retail win highlights SKS's versatile capability across the electrical landscape.
The Melbourne headquarters project is slated for completion in the first quarter of 2028.
At the time of reporting, SKS Technologies' share price was $8.01.
