Silver Mines expands Bowdens Project landholding
Silver Mines (ASX:SVL) announced the acquisition of a strategic parcel of freehold land and associated water entitlements adjacent to its flagship Bowdens Silver Project.
Upon completion of the acquisition, the company’s total freehold landholding will expand to approximately 3,345 hectares.
The substantial land package, combined with existing leases and land access agreements, completely encompasses the entire Bowdens Silver Project area and establishes a significant surrounding buffer zone.
According to Silver Mines, the acquisition delivers crucial long-term operational benefits, including enhanced project water security and expanded biodiversity enhancement opportunities.
The newly acquired land provides the company with flexible development options for potential employee housing and core project infrastructure.
It also allows Silver Mines to sustain its ongoing agricultural operations, with grazing and cropping activities slated to harmoniously coexist alongside the future mining operations.
Silver Mines Managing Director Jo Battershill highlighted that securing this strategic landholding underscores the company’s absolute confidence in the project's future development.
Battershill noted that the acquisition materially strengthens their position as they progress through the redetermination of development consent and mining lease approvals.
Following the completion of this latest transaction, Silver Mines will have invested more than $45 million into freehold land acquisitions.
The company confirmed that the Bowdens' definitive feasibility study remains strictly on track for completion around mid-year.
At the time of reporting, Silver Mines’ share price was $0.16.
