  • Following the drill programme announcement, the company's share price traded unchanged at $0.11.
  • The campaign targets both shallow oxide and deeper potential sulphide gold zones around a former open pit mine.

Silver Mines (ASX:SVL) has commenced its inaugural 2,700-metre diamond drilling programme at the Kramer Hills Gold Project in California.

The new exploration activity contrasts with historical operations that last saw heap leach mining in the 1980s before work ceased.

"After commencing the earn-in to the Kramer Hills Gold Project in mid-2025, our team has completed a substantial amount of work to assist with the targeting, permitting and execution of this inaugural drill programme," said Silver Mines Managing Director Jo Battershill.

The campaign involves up to 22 drill holes designed to test shallow oxide mineralisation as well as deeper potential sulphide zones around the open pit area.

Following the announcement the Silver Mines share price was unchanged at $0.11.

The company originally entered into an earn-in agreement for the project on July 1, 2025.

Since securing the property, the group has completed geophysics, geological mapping, and rock chip sampling to prepare drill targets.
