Sigma Lithium confirms operations unaffected by preliminary ruling

Sigma Lithium (ASX:SAU) confirmed that its mining and industrial activities continue to operate normally following media reports of a preliminary judicial ruling allegedly suspending its environmental licences.
The preliminary ruling was reportedly issued by courts in Teofilo Otoni, located over 300 kilometres from Vale do Jequitinhonha, where operations support 19,000 job positions.
Sigma Lithium stated that the company believes the preliminary ruling is in dissonance with Brazil’s rule of law.
The company clarified that it has not received any formal legal communication regarding the decision and intends to begin its legal defence on Sept. 8.
The company expects to deliver 240,000 tonnes of lithium oxide concentrate within 12 months and 330,000 tonnes in financial year 2027.
Sigma Lithium operates the Grota do Cirilo project in Brazil, which focuses on producing green and sustainable lithium concentrate.
The business recently executed a terms of adjustment agreement with the Minas Gerais state authorities to govern regulatory compliance.
