Saturn Metals (ASX:STN) has secured three exploration licences spanning 135km2 at its Aquarius Gold prospect in Western Australia.
The newly granted ground extends Saturn's existing 1,000-square-kilometre landholding located 30km southeast of its 2.83 million ounce Apollo Hill Gold Resource.
Historical exploration on the licence area returned notable drilling intersections, including 36 metres at 1.25 grammes per tonne of gold.
The company stated that the exploration area covers ground previously held by Sumitomo Metal Mining Oceania.
Following the announcement, the Saturn Metals share price was down at $0.445.
The Aquarius prospect sits directly between the Apollo Hill deposit and Northern Star Resources' (ASX:NST) Carosue Dam operations.
Saturn stated that it is currently consolidating geological interpretations ahead of planned drilling programmes across the trend.
