Santos commences continuous oil production at 20,000 barrels
- Santos has entered continuous production operations at its Pikka Phase 1 oil project on Alaska's North Slope.
- The initial production wells are now online and delivering a gross output of approximately 20,000 barrels per day.
- The company targets a plateau production of approximately 80,000 barrels per day during the third quarter of 2026.
Australian producer Santos (ASX:STO) has commenced continuous production at its Alaskan oil project, initially delivering 20,000 barrels per day.
The operational milestone follows the establishment of intermittent first oil at the North Slope development in May.
“The first production wells are now online and delivering continuous production," said Santos Managing Director and CEO Kevin Gallagher.
The project brings approximately 400 million barrels of gross 2P reserves into production.
Following the announcement, the Santos share price was unchanged at $7.30.
The company operates the Pikka Unit with a 51% stake alongside partner Repsol.
The development underpins the operator's long-term strategy to expand its upstream energy footprint across North America.
