Rokeby Resources wins 20-year licence for Omeo Gold Project
Rokeby Resources (ASX:RKB) announced the 20-year renewal of Mining Licence MIN 4921 (ML 4921), a cornerstone of its recently acquired Omeo Gold Project in Victoria.
Granted under the Victorian Mineral Resources (Sustainable Development) Act 1990, the extension secures the company’s tenure over the site until May 13, 2044.
The long-term security allows Rokeby to aggressively pursue its exploration and resource growth strategy within the historically productive Mt Wills goldfield.
The renewed licence encompasses the Maude and Sunnyside deposits, which currently underpin a historical mineral resource estimate of 320,000 ounces of gold at a high grade of 4.0 g/t Au.
Mineralisation remains open along a 5.8-kilometre zone, suggesting substantial exploration upside.
Rokeby has identified the Sunnyside deposit as a high-priority target and intends to commence a fresh drilling programme as soon as the final acquisition and permitting processes are completed.
CEO Trevor Benson described the renewal as an "outstanding outcome" that materially strengthens the project’s value proposition.
He emphasised that the 20-year term provides a robust platform for the company to execute its development assessments with confidence.
At the time of reporting, Rokeby Resources’ share price was $0.0050.
