Rhythm Biosciences advances NHS assessment for ColoSTAT
- Rhythm Biosciences completed the first phase of technology transfer and assessment for its ColoSTAT test with a National Health Service laboratory.
- Shares in Rhythm Biosciences remained unchanged following the international expansion milestone.
- The completed evaluation establishes technical feasibility and analytical performance in an external clinical setting to support international commercialisation.
Medical diagnostics developer Rhythm Biosciences (ASX:RHY) completed the first phase of its ColoSTAT technology transfer and assessment with a National Health Service laboratory.
The completion marks the company's initial technical validation step in an international clinical environment compared to internal laboratory benchmarks.
"Getting a new clinical diagnostic running in someone else’s laboratory, to their standards, with their people, is a critical step in taking a test beyond a single laboratory and into new markets," said Rhythm Biosciences Managing Director Dr David Atkins.
The first phase verified assay transferability, protocol replication, and baseline analytical accuracy for detecting blood-based colorectal cancer biomarkers outside Australia.
The company stated that the successful technology transfer enables progression into subsequent clinical utility evaluations within the UK healthcare system.
Following the announcement the Rhythm Biosciences share price was unchanged at $0.082.
Rhythm Biosciences is an Australian medical technology firm focused on developing blood-based diagnostic tests for early cancer detection.
The company's core platform, ColoSTAT, is a simple blood test designed to triage symptomatic patients for colorectal cancer risk prior to colonoscopy.
