
Qantas Airways (ASX:QAN) has reached a provisional wage agreement with its union to resolve a dispute covering 1,700 long-haul pilots.
The agreement follows a vote by pilots in favour of industrial action that included potential 24-hour work stoppages.
“A broad agreement has been reached,” said Australian and International Pilots Association President Andrew Marshall.
The prospective deal covers crew flying Airbus A380 and A330 aircraft alongside Boeing (NYSE:BA) 787 jets.
Following the announcement, the Qantas share price was unchanged at $10.65.
Separately, around 650 Qantas ground workers are preparing to vote on potential protected industrial action.
Under local industrial law, unions must secure approval from the Fair Work Commission before conducting member strike ballots.
