Prospect Resources expands Phase 3 Mumbezhi drilling

Share

Prospect Resources (ASX:PSC) launched an expanded Phase 3 drilling programme at its flagship Mumbezhi Copper Project.

The campaign involves approximately 26,000m of drilling, comprising a strategic mix of 60 diamond core holes, 30 reverse circulation holes, and 320 scout aircore holes.

The multi-rig approach is designed to rapidly test high-priority targets and define the next generation of copper resources within the region.

A primary focus of the expansion is the Nyungu ‘Hub’, where crews are conducting extension drilling adjacent to the shallower southern up-dip areas of the Nyungu Central deposit.

The programme also targets the Nyungu West prospect zone and a promising geophysical conductor to the northeast.

Beyond the central hub, the company is testing regional targets at West Mwombezhi, Kamafamba, Sharamba, Chipimpa, and Chalamba.

The efforts aim to extend the project’s existing mineral resource estimate, which currently stands at a substantial 173.8 million tonnes at 0.44% copper.

The technical campaign is being bolstered by ground-based geophysical-induced polarisation surveys at Chipimpa and Kamafamba to refine diamond drill targeting.

At the time of reporting, Prospect Resources' share price was $0.42.
