Power Minerals launches maiden Brazil drilling campaign
Power Minerals (ASX:PNN) commenced its maiden diamond drilling campaign at the Morro do Ferro Rare Earths Project in Brazil.
The exploration initiative is designed to expand the project's high-grade rare earth mineralised footprint while upgrading the company's geological understanding of the target area.
The comprehensive drilling programme is slated to comprise approximately 4,000m of diamond core drilling, aimed at testing depth and extending known high-grade mineralisation.
Additionally, a further 800m of larger-diameter diamond core drilling will be executed to extract essential samples for crucial metallurgical test work.
The campaign seeks to validate previous exceptional drilling results, which featured prominent intercepts such as 60.85m at 89,177ppm (8.92%) total rare earth oxide from surface to end-of-hole in drillhole MFSR-35.
Exploration will target ultra-high-grade magnetic rare earth oxide zones, following historical samples that yielded 2m at 34,835ppm (3.48% of whole rock) MREO in drillhole MFSR-47.
Operations are projected for completion in the following quarter, with initial assay results anticipated approximately three to four weeks after the laboratory receives the samples.
