PLC Resources finalises maiden Rochefort Gold drilling

Share

PLC Resources (ASX:PLC) finalised its maiden reverse circulation drilling programme at the Rochefort Gold prospect, located within the Abbotts North Project in Western Australia.

The reconnaissance programme comprised five holes (26ANRC001–26ANRC005) drilled for a combined total of 1,018m.

Following the completion of the physical drilling operations, the rig has been demobilised from the site.

The Rochefort Prospect is situated approximately 35km north of Meekatharra within the Abbotts Greenstone Belt.

The geological structure is highly promising, hosting New Murchison Gold’s (ASX:NMG) producing Crown Prince deposit roughly 20km to the south, which holds a defined resource of 2.2 million tonnes at 3.9 grammes per tonne of gold.

Initial geological logging of the newly drilled holes has yielded highly encouraging observations. Technical teams identified intersections of quartz veins, sulphide mineralisation, and potassic (biotite) alteration across multiple holes.

The specific geological features are highly consistent with known gold-bearing hydrothermal systems characteristic of the Murchison district.

All collected samples have been despatched to Intertek’s laboratory in Maddington for comprehensive multi-element analysis and gold fire assay determination.

The company expects to receive these laboratory results within four to six weeks, subject to standard processing turnaround times.

Executive Director Simon Phillips stated that completing the maiden programme represents a meaningful milestone for the company, moving exploration forward from preliminary surface geochemistry and gravity interpretation to direct subsurface analysis.

At the time of reporting, PLC Resources’ share price was $0.0090.
