Platina Resources starts Phase 4 drilling at Mt McKenna Project
- Platina Resources has started a 53-hole, 3,200-metre aircore drilling programme at its Mt McKenna Gold Project.
- Shares in Platina Resources remained unchanged at $0.019 following the operational announcement.
- The drilling campaign aims to test mineralisation continuity and guide future exploration at the Granite Well East prospect.
Platina Resources (ASX:PGM) has commenced a Phase 4 aircore drilling programme comprising 53 holes across approximately 3,200m at the Mt McKenna Gold Project in Western Australia.
The new campaign follows up on Phase 3 drilling conducted earlier this year, which identified multiple mineralised zones that remain open at depth.
"This aircore drilling programme is designed to test the potential strike continuity and lateral extent of the gold mineralisation identified in Phase 3 and to provide vectors towards higher-grade zones," said Platina Resources Managing Director and CEO Dr Paul Polito.
Previous Phase 3 drilling delivered notable intercepts, including 1m at 7.10 g/t gold from 40m depth and 7m at 0.61g/t gold from 36m depth.
The company stated that the results from this programme will assist in determining the scale and significance of mineralisation to guide future reverse circulation drilling or geophysical surveys.
Following the announcement, the Platina Resources share price was unchanged at $0.019.
The Mt McKenna project sits 13km east of Laverton, adjacent to Genesis Minerals' (ASX:GMD) 3.9-million-ounce Laverton project and near Gold Fields' (ASX:GFI) Granny Smith Gold Mine.
Platina selected the Granite Well East target through combined exploration datasets, including geological mapping, surface geochemical sampling, historical geophysical data, and a ground gravity survey.
