Piche Resources (ASX:PR2) has commenced a strategic review of its project portfolio following the completion of its underwritten rights issue and top-up placement.

The strategic initiative comes after the company recently rationalised its asset base by disposing of three lower-priority Western Australian projects.

Independent technical input will be provided by Dahrouge Geological Consultants, with Director Business Development & Project Evaluation Callum Standing leading the evaluation on behalf of the firm.

The exploration company stated that potential projects will be assessed against criteria including geological potential, scale, jurisdiction, exploration upside, and development pathway.

The company stated that its objective is to establish a focused portfolio of projects capable of supporting its longer-term growth strategy.

Following the announcement, the Piche Resources share price was unchanged at $0.069.

The board is currently progressing a search for a new CEO to lead the business through its next growth phase.

The recent boardroom changes also included the appointment of Kaoko Metals Managing Director Gerard O’Donovan as a non-executive director.
