Philippines renews Celsius Resources’ Botilao exploration permit

Celsius Resources (ASX:CLA) said the Mines and Geosciences Bureau has approved the first renewal of Exploration Permit No. 011-2023-CAR for the Botilao Porphyry Copper-Gold prospect.

The project is managed through its Philippine affiliate, Makilala Mining and is situated in the mineral-rich Cordillera Administrative Region.

The renewal grants MMCI an additional two-year period to continue its technical studies and field programs.

The primary objective of this phase is to better define the extent, distribution, and characteristics of mineralisation within the permit area.

Under the newly approved Exploration Work Program, the company will focus on advancing geological understanding through intensive surface mapping, geochemical sampling, and data integration.

The efforts are expected to pave the way for potential follow-up geophysical surveys and drilling activities, contingent upon further regulatory approvals.

Beyond exploration, the permit includes an approved Environmental Work Program, which mandates specific measures for environmental protection, rehabilitation, and impact mitigation.

The Community Development Program will continue to support socio-economic initiatives within host communities.
