Perpetual Resources (ASX:PEC) has mobilised its maiden field exploration programme at the Paraíba Tungsten Project, marking a pivotal expansion into South America’s most prolific tungsten-producing region.

Situated within the highly prospective Seridó Mineral Province in northeastern Brazil, the project encompasses a substantial 8,714-hectare landholding.

The initial reconnaissance campaign is designed as a rapid, first-pass assessment to validate historically reported mineralisation and establish high-priority targets for subsequent drilling phases.

The exploration suite includes comprehensive geological mapping, rock chip sampling, and the critical validation of historical workings.

Field teams are specifically targeting skarn mineralisation and structurally controlled scheelite, which is often associated with the region's prominent shear zones.

By defining the style and scale of tungsten present, Perpetual aims to quickly transition from surface evaluation to active drill testing.

With structural supply constraints meeting surging demand from the defence, energy transition, and advanced manufacturing sectors—including the rapidly growing electric vehicle market—tungsten has become a high-value commodity for the US and EU.

Perpetual’s entry into the Brazilian sector reflects a broader commitment to securing strategic assets that support modern industrial and technological infrastructure.

At the time of reporting, Perpetual Resources' share price was $0.012.
