Perpetual Resources Ltd (ASX: PEC) has commenced a systematic trenching program at its Igrejinha Lithium and Caesium Project in Minas Gerais, Brazil's "Lithium Valley".
The work targets high-priority Lithium-Caesium-Tantalum (LCT) pegmatite prospects including Morro Grande, Mauricio, and Pico Grande (to be renamed Caraiba), across Perpetual's ~12,000-hectare Brazilian tenure.
The program, set for May and June 2026 and subject to access/permitting, will map and expose pegmatite bodies to assess their subsurface orientation and continuity.
Results will combine with existing soil geochemistry and mapping data to refine targets before a planned diamond drilling campaign in mid-2026. Perpetual is earning up to 90% exploration rights at Igrejinha.
"The commencement of trenching at Igrejinha marks an important step forward as we transition into the next phase of exploration across what is rapidly emerging as a highly prospective pegmatite district," said Perpetual Resources Limited Executive Chairman Julian Babarczy.
Perpetual is also designing field programs for its Renaldinho Project as it expands exploration across South America's key lithium region.
